Being Low Is Not a No-Go
From today’s reading…
But Gideon answered him, “Please, my lord, how can I save Israel?
My family is the lowliest in Manasseh,
and I am the most insignificant in my father’s house.
“I shall be with you,” the LORD said to him,…”
Gideon and his people were beat up and beat down. (They brought it on themselves by repeatedly putting unleaded gas in their diesel engines.)
He was a blue collar guy in a blue collar family doing all he could to make ends meet after seven long years of hardship.
But Gideon was a loyal, faithful, and proven fighter for his people.
So when the Lord figured it was time to cut the Israelites a break, He looked around for a leader and called Gideon. (Are you ready if the call comes today?)
He answered the call while remaining humble and focused because he had assurances from the Lord that He would be by his side.
Like Gideon, you and I are never alone.
The drills, the trials, the exercises, even the mundane routines in your life are preparing you for what comes next.
Because how you do the small things in life is how you’ll do the big things. (Want bigger challenges? Do the smaller things better.)
How you act when no one is looking is how your character will be formed and defined…and it will define you.
But those can be some dark, cold, lonely days and nights of doing the right thing when no one is watching.
Just know that someone is watching—and walking with—you on your journey.
Stay the course.Keep the faith.Endure.
