All these devoted themselves

with one accord to prayer,

together with some women, and Mary

the mother of Jesus, and his brothers” Acts 1:14

The first Christians treated women with respect and dignity—even as equals—as you see in the opening of Acts as men and women prayed together, which was not the norm for practicing Jews of that time.

Jesus changed everything: our relationship with God, our relationship with our Savior, and even our relationship with one another.
