Do these 4 things to grow sales

According to results from a Software Advice survey conducted in partnership with Eloqua and CMO.com, if you want high quality leads to grow sales do the top 4 things shown in the table below, namely:

  • Email marketing.

  • SEO.

  • Working the phone, i.e. telemarketing / cold calling.

  • Trade shows / live events.

Look at the top 4 ways to grow sales. Social media is not one of them.

Sure, social media is sexy and fun and all of the cool kids are doing it, but for most businesses it is just not producing the results they need.

So do what works and experiment with ways to get better at what works. Set aside some funds to test the other means of lead generation such as social media, PPC/CPM, retargeting, etc. because there may be some diamonds in the rough there. But if money is tight and you need sales now, send a good email to your prospects and clients, write two to five great articles a week on your site following good SEO practices, pick up the phone and get out in front of your marketplace by putting on your own events and/or attending trade shows with a strategy in place to get the most out of it rather than sit behind a table, nursing a hangover and doing Facebook updates on your iPhone.
